InsPiRaTiOn/ TrAiNing To Be SoLdiErs/ Singapore Our Homeland

...Lo aNd BeHoLd...

I was just chatting with my bosses at the mess last night and picked up some essential lessons in life. Usually, people who are very goal oriented toil hard at achieving goals that require mastering every ounce of their energy. Yet sometimes, these same people fall inevitably short of their planned aim and condemn themselves. However, usually these people fail to reflect upon the process or avenue that they took in the light of achieving that goal. The path itself would have enabled them to develop as individuals and allowed them to accomplish miracles that they themselves would have never thought possible.

The bottom line is that self reflection is a crucial entity in life. Reflection enables you to undertand yourself better. Know what you are doing now and know what you should do in the future. If your life seems to be moving into a state of frenzy and discomfort, call for a time out. Sit down and think about your priorities in life. Think of and list down all your worries and troubles. You'll feel less traumatised when you can physically see what is troubling you on a piece of paper. Focus on what is important to you in life. Think about the people you care for and how much they care for you. Pessimism will ruin your life and optimism will enable you to soar the heavens. Pessimism will bring about uncertainty and discomfort whilst optimism will elevate your sense of confidence. The choice is yours.

Training To Be Soldiers

I was just listening to this song that we sang during our days as trainees. It fills me with pride to be a Singaporean. Each and every verse of this song is perfectly justified. We should never ever take the peace and prosperity that we have now for granted. If I have to give my life for the protection of our sovereignty, I will gladly do it.

Training to be soldiers, To fight for our land
Once in our life, 2 years of our time
Have you ever wondered? Why must we serve?
Because we love our land
And we want it to be free, to be free

Looking all around us, People everywhere
Children having fun, while we are holding guns
Have you ever wondered? Why must we serve?
Because we love our land
And we want it to be free, to be free

Stand up, Be on your guard
C'mon everybody do your part
Have you ever wondered? Why must we serve?
Because we love our land
And we want it to be free, to be free

Singapore our homeland, it is here where we belong.
All of us united, one people marching on.
We've come so far togather, our common destiny
Singapore forever, a nation STRONG & FREE........
