...Lo aNd BeHoLd...

I really love Friday nights. Although I'm usually a little sad that I'll have to go through the weekend to start another exciting week at work, Friday nights enable me to unwind, reflect upon the week's events and plan what to do better in the days to come.

Friday at work was a very productive day for me. I managed to finish more than I had initially planned to. Yeah...!! As mentioned before, I was really looking forward to Friday night as my office planned to have a farewell outing for one of our bosses, Ms Cindy. After work ended at 5pm, I cabbed back home togather with Qi Hao, Larry and Ivan.

OUTING

The entire gang met up at a restaurant called Thai Accent in Vivocity. The food there was really not bad. The spices were rich and the food was generally aromatic. My table of 4 (Larry, Malcolm, Samuel and me) had the Thick Tom Yam Soup, Sweet and Sour Chicken, Deep fried Prawns, Kway Teow with pork ribs, Thai Fragrant Rice and Sticky Mango rice for dessert. I would personally give the restaurant 3.5 stars out of 5 stars. After dinner, we initially planned to head to St. James Power Station for a drinking session, but it was totally crowded.

Hence, we eventually decided to head down to Clarke Quay to a pub known as Forbidden City. I'm not a great fan of clubbing or pubbing but I thought the entire setting of the place was simply amazing. There was a huge fish tank at the heart of the place and a tribal man stood upon a huge podium playing the huge drums. The setting was suppossed to depict a real forbidden, medieval or traditional kind of legendary or mythical city.

There were 13 of us there. We managed to get a very good seat full of pillows and oakwood tables apparently to resemble the kind of comfortable arrangement upon which emperors in the past used to rest. Then came in the alcohol. Obviously, I did not partake in the drinking, but it was fun watching the rest socialise, talk and disturb Jill. It is always the company that counts.

Next came the grand finale. There was a wide dance floor draped with brightly coloured curtains. Initially there was no one dancing there. Of course, there were people who attempted to dance every now and then but none stayed. Then, after Jill finished her second drink, she, me and Larry headed down to the dance floor and magic happened. It was real fun. Eventually when people saw us having fun and holding upon our dance floor, they too started to flood the arena with their moves.

I also had a chance to dance with Jill on top of one of the tables. How cool is that. Eventually, Ms Cindy, Ms Jolene, Ms Felicia, Qi Hao, Daryl and Bernard also joined us on the dance floor. Bernard, on a side note is also a very fun and interesting dude. Time passed in dancing stupor and we finally decided to end it off at 1230am.

We then headed to the taxi stand. While waiting for the taxi, I started singing An Jing, where Jill joined me in unison medley. Eventually Larry and Ivan joined the singing duo. I bet people at the taxi stand must have been thinking that we are crazy. Eventually the taxi came and Jill had to be parted from us. I then boarded the cab home with Larry, Qi Hao and Ivan.

I learnt a very important lesson in life last night. Age is really just a number. Its how you portray and carry yourself that really determines your age. It is crucial for one to be able to work to the best of heir ability when duty calls but it is also equally crucial for one to go all out when it is time to enjoy and consequently spread joy into the lives of others. In other words, superficiallity is secondary. Its what you think about yourself that counts.
Ms Cindy, Ms Janny, Mr Andy, Ms Jolene, Ms Amanda, Ms Felicia, Jill, Bernard, Larry, Malcolm, Qihao, Ivan, Daryl and Samuel.... thank you for the amazing and memorable time.
